In 2024 our Primary Care practices will be transitioning from the AdventHealth Medical Group to the AdventHealth Primary Care Network
The Primary Care Network will be part of AdventHealth’s new Primary Health Division which focuses on services outside of the hospital setting to increase its success in value-based care.
This new Division will include the Primary Care Network, Primary Care+, Centra Care, Population Health, Well 65+, Home Health, Hospice, Hospital Care at Home and Acute Care at Home.

The role you’ll contribute: Under the supervision of the Education Program Coordinator and/or the Director of Clinical Excellence and Education – Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) functions to facilitate the goals and initiatives of the Clinical Education departments across Primary Health Division-Primary Care Network. This position assists with clinical orientation, completion of clinical competencies and assessments, Fast Track Medical Assistant class, assist with all facets of the implementation of the MA career ladder, and works in conjunction with the Primary Care Network (PCN) – Primary Health Division (PHD) Student Extern Program to arrange clinical rotations in our Primary Care practices.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Actively instructs clinical orientation, clinical courses, and annual competency sessions.
Develop and roll out training materials including, but not limited to, competency checklists for clinical skill and new/ongoing clinical courses.
Coordinate training programs and ensure proper training materials are available prior to, during, and after training.
The Clinical Educator supports the development of students and clinical support staff fostering knowledge and skill enhancement through the delivery of evidence based clinical policies.
Host training session for students participating in clinical courses on sight and virtually including, but not limited to, Fast Track Medical Assistant and Clinical Ladder classes.
Assist with onboarding of student externs, including, but not limited to, providing assistance and support to all students regarding the application process, supporting documents, orientation requirements; secures preceptor and ensures all documents and application are complete and approved prior to the student rotations.
Participate in planning and implementing staff education to new policies/procedures, equipment, and performance improvement initiatives.
Work collaboratively with other clinical educators to design educational programs that require innovative teaching techniques.
Perform Environment of Care Surveys, including but not limited to participating in site surveys at offices throughout the Region, ensure all offices are following best practices as relates to Environment of Care, supporting staff education opportunities to promote Environment of care initiative.
Assesses educational needs for PHD or specific clinical units.
Assists in the professional development of staff via assessment of needs with planning, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs.
Provides individual instruction as necessary.
Schedules and coordinates meetings, classes, and event sessions for new hire orientations and education events.
Proctor certification exams.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum qualifications:
Diploma Licensed Practical Nurse
Current, valid Florida State Board of Nursing, Practical Nurse License (LPN)
Current, Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
5+ years of relatable ambulatory healthcare experience.
2+ years training/preceptor experience in a healthcare environment
Preferred experience:
Associate degree preferred.
2+ years physician practice operations teaching
Experience in adult learner education/teaching experiencer field
Experience supervising staff
Experience teaching in formal/informal settings
