NHPCO is currently seeking a Veterans Services Coordinator to join our mission-driven team and support We Honor Veterans (WHV), a program in partnership with the Department of Veteran Affairs. This program seeks to ensure that those who have served are honored and cared for when they reach the end of life. We keep our organizational values of service, respect, excellence, collaboration, and stewardship at the forefront of all we do to ensure our partners have the best support to provide patients and families with the best possible care. In this role, you will serve as the face of customer service guiding those seeking resources for the end-of-life care of Veterans and their families. You will work collaboratively across departments within the organization to help develop strategic program goals and raise awareness of the unique needs of America’s Veterans. The ideal candidate is able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and accomplish multiple assignments in an accurate and timely manner.
Gathers partner feedback for Veteran Services team to address and update programmatic activities and requirements to ensure NHPCO is meeting and adapting to changes surrounding End of Life Care for Veterans. Ensures that all inquiries and requests for assistance are handled in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer service.
Coordinates and assists in managing all partner activities and serves as the main point of contact for inquiries, handling, or triaging, where appropriate, any issues related to partner program or access to care.
Builds and maintains relationships with numerous community partners within the health care and Veterans space.
Contributes to We Honor Veterans communications efforts to raise awareness of Veterans initiatives, highlight partner activities, and contributes to presence across all NHPCO’s social media platforms.
Manages and updates education resources and materials for partners found on the WHV WordPress-powered website.
Manages and solicits content including partner stories for WHV website, NHPCO publications, and WHV Newsletter.
Collaborates with staff and external stakeholders to help develop strategic program goals and detailed plans for accomplishing priorities.
Proactively tracks and updates partner data elements including level breakdowns, educational resource usage, and demographics to ensure accurate reporting of outcomes through website platform and database.
Maintains central program and partner-related files to ensure maintenance of accurate records and gathers data related to project activities.
Recommends process improvement initiatives for consideration and may carry out the initiatives as assigned.
Serves as liaison for non-hospice partners including administrative support and scheduling during contracting process, compiles monthly reports, and is solely responsible for keeping location and partner contact information up to date.
Performs a wide variety of administrative duties, including research, filing, responding to emails, telephone calls, scheduling, exhibits at conferences, and other related tasks as may be assigned.
A minimum of one to three years’ work experience in office/administrative support/customer service or similar administrative functions; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Experience in an administrative/program support position in a non-profit or association environment preferred.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
An interest in or experience with the Veteran population and health care policy is a bonus but not required.
Proficient with technology in a remote setting.
Ability to utilize analytical skills and a broad understanding of the organization to effectively interpret and anticipate department needs.
Exercises initiative, judgment, and discretion in performing the administrative functions.
Possesses excellent communication skills (verbal and written composition) with a high level of editing capabilities.
Ability to identify and resolve problems/issues in a timely manner.
Takes initiative to complete ad hoc projects.
Improves processes, products, and services.
Familiarity with WordPress-powered websites.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and related suite of Microsoft programs
