Bronson Healthcare Group is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Palliative Care Physician to join our Advanced Illness Management (AIM) team performing inpatient Palliative Care consults at Bronson Methodist Hospital and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital. Candidates should be MD/DO credentialed, board certified/eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine, and possess passion for improving the quality of life for inpatients facing serious illness.
Responsibilities:
Conduct inpatient palliative care consults that include comprehensive assessments of patients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual needs to provide holistic care.
Collaborate with an experienced interdisciplinary AIM team including an ACHP-SW credentialed social worker, BCC-PCHAC candidate chaplain, ACHPN certified nurse practitioners, and Palliative Care trained physicians.
Coordinate and communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other medical professionals to ensure a seamless continuum of care.
Demonstrate expertise in palliative care interventions, including advanced pain management techniques, psycho-social support, and end-of-life decision-making.
Educate and support the entire healthcare team in promoting palliative care principles throughout the institution.
Qualifications:
Medical degree from an accredited school of medicine and board certification or eligibility in Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
Valid medical license to practice in Michigan.
Proven experience in palliative care, with a deep understanding of pain and symptom management, psychosocial support, and ethical issues in end-of-life care.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with patients and their families.
Empathy, patience, and a caring demeanor to provide comfort and support during challenging medical encounters.
This position offers a desirable work-life balance, with regular working hours from 8 am to 5 pm on Mondays through Fridays, and no after-hours or weekend call expectations, allowing you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care. Care responsibilities will be split between Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo, MI, and Bronson Battle Creek Hospital in Battle Creek Michigan as census demands, currently at an approximately 70/30 ratio.
