Our entire organization has carefully evaluated and standardized these roles to ensure opportunities to practice at top of your license and be a strong contributor. We've also established a career framework for CNAs and Unit Secretaries with clear paths to encourage career development into nursing and a wide range of roles. In this role you will provide direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures. You will assists the healthcare team in coordinating, prioritizing and communicating patient, physician and staff needs. The shifts are 8 hours from 0630-1530 and you can pick up 12 hour CNA shifts as well. They need a minimum of every other Saturday to meet weekend requirements.What You Bring/Job Requirements:In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: * 1-2 years of acute CNA experience, preferred* Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English* Basic computer skills* Previous nursing unit secretary or medical office experience, preferred* High School Diploma or GED * Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program preferred * Current state CNA license for applicable state of employment required* Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association requiredPhysical Requirements - Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)Your Connected Community:When people and places align, incredible things happen. The General Medical department is a 20-bed unit, with a fast-paced atmosphere, specializing in stroke and sepsis, and a diverse patient population, most with multiple comorbidities. This unit takes overflow patients from other areas including trauma, telemetry, transplant, and oncology. The General Medical unit's mission is to treat every patient as if they were our own family members. This unit's team is awesome. They love working together and care about each other. The culture is positive and caring, and the team thrives on their ability to collaborate and help each other through tough shifts. Team member experience ranges from new to over 20 years - it's a perfect mix.
