Job Summary:* Provide quality patient care to all patients within the medical imaging department. * Perform high quality images and exams on patients while maintaining the sensitivity to patient needs. * Demonstrates leadership abilities and is a role model for other associate technologists. * Acts as a clinical resource to unit personnel and assures current standards of practice for the unit.* Performs a variety of ultrasound procedures including, but not limited to, abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts and vascular. May perform cardiac procedures as required by entity. * Practices all rules and regulations pertaining to radiation safety, reducing personal and patient exposure to "as low as reasonably achievable"(ALARA).* Produces quality images in a complete, accurate and timelymanner. * Performs IV starts and contrast administration as required.* Correctly inputs charges and required data for procedures and for supplies utilized during the procedure/exam.* Prepares patient for exam. Provides information and instruction to patient and/or family regarding the procedure and responds to their physical and emotional needs. *This is a PRN position (5 shifts scheduled in a 6-week period). This position is used to cover call-offs, vacations, and where coverage may be needed.
