St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea has an excellent full time employment opportunity for a Board Certified or Board Eligible Psychiatrist to join our Inpatient Psychiatry Program located in Chelsea, Michigan.
The selected candidate will join two other providers as an attending Psychiatrist for the inpatient unit. St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea's inpatient Psychiatry unit currently operates 24 beds and is licensed for a total of 30 beds. Our inpatient unit accepts both voluntary and involuntary patients through our emergency department, as well as referrals from outside emergency departments, 24 hour per day, seven day per week, including holidays. The candidate for this opportunity will also provide hospital consults. Call coverage will be shared with six Psychiatry staff members, with the inpatient physicians providing the majority of the call.
This opportunity is open to candidates with training and special interest in ECT, although it is not required.
St. Joseph Mercy Chelsea is a teaching facility with University of Michigan medical students and Eastern Michigan University Physician Assistant students rotating through the unit regularly. As part of the rotation program, our Psychiatrists provide the teaching component to these students.
The Psychiatry opportunity is also open to new graduate residents, as well as current practicing physicians. This opportunity does not accept J-1 or H-1B candidates.
