Position Overview:

Receives and processes incoming supplies and equipment as directed.

Primary Duties:

• Distributes supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures.
• Performs batching of patient charges in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintains an adequate supply of packs and supplies to meet area needs including inventory control, proper labeling.
• Receives requests for supplies and loads distributes vehicles. Distributes supplies and equipment to units in a timely fashion.
• Handles and stores equipment and supplies appropriately.
• Expedites processing of goods in accordance with priorities and predetermined schedules.
• Cooperates and coordinates with other departments to ensure smooth flow of materials.
• Inventories user storage areas and replenishes inventory or par levels.
• Organizes and maintains records pertinent to stock levels, supply quantities issued, and other data; recommends modification to quotas or inventories.
• Loads or unloads materials, equipment, merchandise or supplies from automobiles, trucks or other vehicles as directed.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Maintains the cleanliness of work areas as required.

Position Qualifications:

Physical demands:

• Occasional prolonged and extensive walking, standing
• Occasionally lifts supplies/equipment
• Moderate physical effort (lift/carry up to 25 pounds)
• Occasional reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching

Working Conditions:

• Contact with patients under wide variety of circumstances
• May be exposed to infectious and contagious diseases
• Regularly exposed to the risk of blood borne diseases
• Occasional exposure to unpleasant patient or unit elements
