The Palliative Care Program at M Health Fairview is hiring a Palliative Care Medicine Physician to provide ambulatory palliative care in the Twin Cities metro area. The M Health Fairview Palliative Care Program is one of the first palliative care programs in Minnesota. We are developing new models of collaboration with six hospitals and nine clinics, and growing our services across our integrated academic health system.
Position Highlights:

Provide palliative medicine consultation and clinical medical education in our interdisciplinary palliative care clinics, in the Twin Cities metro area. Our interdisciplinary palliative care clinics provide consultation and patient care for patients with cancer and other serious illnesses across the Twin Cities metro area, in a collaborative environment with oncology clinicians and other specialists.

This position will be primarily based at the M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center in Minneapolis.

This is inpatient palliative care consultation role. Our palliative medicine physicians share call responsibilities, which involve evening "telephone call" as well as weekend rounding at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Join a full interdisciplinary team of palliative care social workers, chaplains, advanced practice providers and physicians.

Part time (.90 FTE) position (36 hours/week)

Week day hours.

Provides care, assessments, consultations and follow up for palliative care patients. Will see a variety of patients with chronic illnesses, except no pediatric patients.

Communicates with patients and families to explain diagnosis, procedures, expected diagnostic or therapeutic treatments and prognosis.

Collaborates, consults and communicates with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare providers and staff throughout the continuum of care.

Fully integrated electronic medical record (EPIC) is utilized.
Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited ACGME residency program and completion of a hospice and palliative medicine fellowship (preferred)

Must be board certified/board eligible in Hospice & Palliative Medicine.

Licensed or ability to obtain medical license and DEA in the State of Minnesota, and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.

Ability to receive work authorization in the United States from the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and maintain legal status according to the requirements of VISA category while in the United States.?
