This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Learn more The incumbent is stationed at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center (Chicago, IL) and serves as a staff psychologist within the Mental Health Service Line (MHSL). Major Duties: Serving as the primary point of contact for the provision of timely, efficient, patient-centered, recovery-oriented, and evidenced-based assessment, psycho-education, consultation, and therapeutic integrative health services, including biofeedback, neurofeedback, pain, sleep, and stress management services. Collaborates with and provides consultation and therapeutic support to other Veteran programs and services within the Medical Center as needed, e.g., Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Palliative Care, Oncology. Leverages their competencies in brain-behavior relationships, psychophysiology measurement, biopsychosocial evaluation and treatment, health promotion, and disease prevention. Performing structured clinical interviews, crisis interventions, mental health and addiction screenings, clinical reminders, evaluations for Veterans with suicidal and homicidal ideation, plan, and/or behavior, and assistance with linking Veterans to appropriate treatments. Contributes to the Psychology Training Program and provides clinical supervision to psychology externs, interns and post-doctoral fellows, when appropriate.
