Nursing Assistant
The Nursing Assistant (NA) GS-03 is considered an entry level and operates under complete supervision. The Nursing Assistant (NA) GS-04 is considered an intermediate or developmental level and operates under close supervision. The Nursing Assistant at the GS-05 is the full performance level for Nursing Assistant (NA) occupation 0621 series. The Nursing Assistant functions as a member of the nursing care team and assists licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, sub-acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care. The distinguishing factor is that patient/resident assignments typically involve more complex nursing needs which can vary within a range of predictable to unpredictable requirements. The NA at this level also assumes a peer education/ment
