The Nursing Assistant is a member of the nursing care team and assist licensed nursing staff (Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN)/ Registered Nurse (RN)) in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, sub-acute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care. Independently provide basic and complex care to patients/residents with consideration for psychosocial, cultural, and age specific needs, as well as assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), (e.g. assist with eating, personal hygiene, shaving, assisting with travel to and from the bathroom, etc.). Maintains patient/resident stability, (e.g. checking vital signs & weight). Provides patients/residents comfort by utilizing available resources and materials; transports patients/residents, answers patient/residents' call lights and requests in a timely manner; reports patient/resident observations to the LVN/LPN, RN and/or Provider. Documents actions using Computerized Patients/residents Record System (CPRS) and other electronic software/devices and completes required forms, reports, logs, and records. Properly use equipment, materials and supplies in simple diagnostic and treatment procedures when available including, but not limited to, vital signs machine, blood glucose monitoring, and specimen collection (e.g. urine/nasal swabs). Assists with procedures, including obtaining and arranging necessary equipment, position inpatient/resident, ensuring comfort and privacy. Observes patient/residents' physical or emotional status and reports deviations and/or problems to ChargeNurse (LVN/LPN/ care independently RN) immediately. Removes defective equipment, reports hazards, observes safety regulations, contributes to infection control, and utilizes proper aseptic technique in performance of duties. Performs light housekeeping to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, dish washing and other light housekeeping duties as assigned to maintain cleanliness and Infection Control Standards of the Cottage and Patient area. Work Schedule: Rotating Shifts; Nights & Weekends; 7:30 AM - 8:00 PM; 7:30 PM - 8:00 AM Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
