The Hospice and Palliative Nurses Association (HPNA), a national association located in Pittsburgh, serving nurses and other healthcare professionals working in palliative and hospice care, is seeking an experienced Director of Education to provide leadership and accountability for the practice and the operational function of Education program. The Director of Education is responsible for assessment, planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of education products and services for the organization. As Director of Education for HPNA you will:
Direct development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and products.
Organize teams, recruit faculty, and review publications and presentations for sound evidence-based content.
Manage staff in charge of registration, orders, CE process, and evaluation of educational programs and materials.
Assess, plan, coordinate, market, and evaluate educational offerings and identify and recommend technologies and partnerships to achieve goals.
Coordinate RFPs and meeting space contracts for education programs.
Recruit, assemble, and assign tasks to a volunteer advisory teams and coordinate their efforts.
Coordinate and maintain Approved Educator Program and develop online training for initial completion and renewal.
Achieve and maintain requirements for CE accreditation (ANCC and California Board of Nursing).
Maintain current knowledge of palliative nursing, trends in palliative care, education technology, and scholarly publishing.
Master’s degree in nursing with current license to practice as a registered nurse/advanced practice registered nurse and CHPN® or ACHPN® certification; or
Master’s degree in related field and credentialed within that area
Three years of teaching or staff education or curriculum development experience
Palliative nursing clinical and management experience preferred
Effective verbal and written communication and public speaking skills
Self-directed, motivated and strong time-management skills
Strong organizational and leadership skills; ability to adapt to a changing environment
Expertise in appropriate application software including Microsoft Office applications, LMS, and online education platforms
