The George Washington School of Nursing is recruiting for an experienced, Research Project Associate, Quality Improvement. The position will supervise site coordinators and improvement efforts at 17 clinical sites through the implementation of the project. The Project Associate, QI, provides strategic direction to the sites through regular teleconferencing, site visits approximately three times annually, monthly webinars, and developing and providing content for site newsletter. • Visits sites in person to provide direct supervision and gather site-specific feedback. (anticipate 3 visits per site per year). Maintains phone contact with sites to assess progress, recommend best practices, and support their activities through implementation assistance. • Advises the sites on the development of rapid cycle PDSA tests to further implementation of change concepts, setting up PDSA cycles as applicable. • Consults with site Quality Improvement departments, developing protocol and ensuring compliance with project goals. • Researches and recommends approaches to patient relationship and care direction. • Develops and directs necessary trainings for clinical sites. • Designs, directs, and independently conducts micro-studies within clinical sites. • Delegates tasks to the project assistant related to clinical site activities. • Monitors programs, identifying challenges and opportunities across clinical sites and presents findings to the Co-PIs and project team. • Organizes and operates Action Period activities in collaboration with the Co-PI’s, and Project Assistant that support site implementation of Change Package. • Reviews monthly reports submitted by Collaborative teams and provides feedback to teams on their progress, collaborating with the Project Manager and Data Analyst as needed. • Engages faculty to arrange consultation with sites as needed. • Develops topics for monthly site webinars and site newsletter based on breakthroughs and barriers experienced by the sites, with input from the Project Manager. • Presents the Collaborative teams’ monthly feedback reports to Co-PI’s, providing appropriate assessment. • Regularly assesses Collaborative progress and institutes necessary changes to meet Collaborative aim. • Ensures collaborative learning throughout the Action Periods in collaboration with the Faculty Chair and Measurement Advisor via Collaborative team coaching and forum post. • Manages and adheres to all deadlines as outlined by deliverables set forth by the Moore Foundation deliverables. • Adheres to communication protocol as determined. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization plus 2 years of relevant professional experience, or, a Master’s degree or higher in a relevant area of study. Degree must be conferred by the start date of the position. Degree requirements may be substituted with an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Registered Nurse (RN) in healthcare quality improvement experience preferred. • Experience in health care quality improvement and PDSA cycles. • Experience with IHI style Learning Collaborative. • Experience in nephrology and/or palliative care.
